NO PUBLIC OPTION WHAT DOES IT MEAN

If you think I'd give up 3 Mil, in campaign contributions so the voters can have a public option you're nuts

I'm Senator Max Bauckus and I don't give a damn how you feel about me. You'll all die sooner or later any way. No public Option, No Way. I won't give up 3 MIL.

I'm Senator Max Bauckus and I don't give a damn how you feel about me. You'll all die sooner or later any way. No public Option, No Way. I won't give up 3 MIL.

I thought we were fighting for everyone, but my folks can't get decent Health Care and no one seems to give a danm.

Who's responsible for this?

OK, let's get real about this Health Care mess, NO,N,ON,ON,ON,ON,ON,ON, ...on the Public Option. Do you feel me?

It's a shame...we could have save this one buh the insurance company said "NO"

WANT TO KEEP YOUR HEALTH CARE...CARE

No Public Option Means: 20% higher premiums for heath care insurance.

NO Public Option Means: CEO's of the major Heath Care Insurance providers can receive excessive,Executive Compensation.

No Public Option Means: Another financial meltdown like the one that caused the [Bail Out} for the home finance industry.

No Public Option Means: More deaths by denial from the major health care insurance providers, if the cost of the procedure cuts in to projected earnings.

Even if you have what...you think is a great Health Care Insurance, plan.

No Public Option Means you may be burying, or helping to financially, support a loved one who doesn't.

No Public Option Means: If you have a major illness event, you have to file bankruptcy.

No Public Option Means: You could loose you family home and then you and the kids will live on the street.

[To verify this claim I suggest you... Just type [Health Care Horror Stories] into your Browser, this will take you to some really sad stories of suffering under the current [Health Care Provider] System.

No Public Option Means: That if your insurer rejects your premium for procedure costs ...all the money you payed into your plan was a charitable donation to some CEO's pleasure cruiser.

No Public Option Means: You may have to apply for food stamps if you file a claim that they over charge you for.

No Public Option Means: Let them eat cake.

The only people who don’t want ”Health Care Reform”, and the [Public Option] included in the reform, are the people who have a health care plan; and haven’t been short sheeted by their heath care plan provider yet.

And as is the case...most of the time; every one is afraid of change. Add in elected officials who generate fear of any change in order to protect the value added effect they get from being in office, and having lobbyist for the health care industry; throw the extra money they gouge out of their premium holders; at these politicians, and you get a the current attitude about changing the health care system.

No [Public Option] means we all still pay the price at the emergency room, and the only people who benefit from no change are the people who run health care plans for profit, and the politicians they pay to hold the line.

They fear a “Public Option” because it will force them to act more humanely in dealing with their insured clients. It will force them to play fair. And that’s what they definitely don’t want. They and the sell out congressmen that feed at the troff.

So how do we convince the people who have health care that its in their best interest to back the proposed change in the way health care is delivered in this country. One way is to wait until they experience a catastrophic illness in their family and are terminated from their health care plan.

You can try appealing to their sense of community. Or maybe you can offer them a $50.00 Gift Card, at Macy’s.

Or how about they consider the eventuality of losing what they have because they tried to play it safe.

If you have health care and you want to keep it you need to back the health care reform being developed in congress.

People that believe in money will never have enough, and sadly what they think of everyone else on their way to making millions is their just a means to an end.

Are you a means to an end or are you part of the human race you decide.

Each and every politician that takes office swears...takes an oath on the bible to defend the Constitution of the United States. The most notable line in the preamble to the constitution is. Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

This means that every member of congress has vowed to defend the lives of all Americans.

So what does it mean when these same congressional members advocate not to endorse the Public Option?

It means they are guilty of a Breach of contract  when they advocate to vote against the Pubic Option.  Something that should be rewarded with impeachment and considered an ethical offense.

It also means that by taking money from the health care lobby; to vote against the Public Option, they are willfully engaging in a conflict of interest. This is also an ethical offense.

Knowing that people are dying to the tune of  47,000, a year due to the lack of health care, is the highest degree of Malfeasance to which any politician can attain.  And it is also an ethical offense worthy of impeachment.

So the real question is how do these liars continue to stay in office with all this ethical and legal weight against them?

The greatest responsibility of members of government is to protect the lives of the citizens of the United States.  When they refuse to do this they are willingly allowing people they take an oath to protect to die, and they are committing a form of political genocide.

Good points. When I still had health care, I watched the cost go up and the benefits go down for seven years in a row. That is consistent with what has been happening nationwide. Recent polls show 75% of the public is in favor of at least some kind of public option, and yet our respresentives balk at it. Are they representing us or the insurance companies? I mean, they are SUPPOSED to be representing us, but clearly they are more worried about the money they get from PACs and lobbyists for Big Phama and HMOs.

My fear is that the outcome of this cowardly Congressional two-step will be some kind of forced private insurance--as in, buy it or be penalized on your taxes. Well, most people who don't have it CAN'T buy it--it's too expensive.

If this doesn't get done right I think we will see quite a public backlash by mid 2010. I think it will get ugly. I hope I'm wrong. Because continuing down the road we are on is NOT an option. Great hub.

What does it mean?: Same old, same old huge cost increases, mediocre results, millions of uninsured Americans, employers bankrupted by competition from competitors who don't bear the same outrageous health care insurance costs and so forth.

pgrundy 2 years ago

Ralph, I wish we had a single payer coverage-for-all option on the table. I don't like the way this is shaping up at all. But <sigh> no one asked me... or 75% of the rest of the country.

"You could loose your family home and then you and the kids will live on the street" Wow!! That is too funny. Yeah, a plane could fall on my head, but what does that have to do with the price of tea in China? Talk about scare tactics and nothing to support it.

Jeromeo 2 years ago

You may want to talk with some of the families who have had this happen to them before you expose you insensitive side.

And your morbid sense humor at the plight of others is equally sad, especially if you're running around pretending to be a human being.

There are many horror stories out there that you could read and get a true since of what's really happening if you weren't so busy laughing you as s off.

Its uniformed ignorance like yours, and a self serving frame of mind that helps to put these people on the street.

Why don't you go online get the truth...then come back funny man, and apologize to those less fortunate that you.

Thanks for reading my Hub.

AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE CAN BE FOUND IN THE NATIONAL PUBLIC MALL

Where can we find affordable Health Care? The same place we made the stand for Equal Rights, for women and others who were considered to be [Second Class Citizens.]

The National Public Mall.

When Congress returns form their vacation they need to see a million strong on the National Public Mall, denouncing corporate greed and the cost in human suffering for a few to determine fate of many.

The battle for Affordable Health Care, has been waged on an uneven playing field. Corporate interest determined over a decade ago that if they could control the flow of information, they could control the Public Will, and those elected to serve It.

There are very few real broadcast journalists who disseminate the news for the public good. Most TV news caster are little more than self absorbed Teleprompter readers. They are not driven by any sense of moral integrity; to preserve the nations sense of social, fair play and true Democracy; their main concerns are a paycheck and the possibility of notoriety through Emmy awarded winning fame.

Largely noted as part of the Cable News Media Culture, they help wage a daily war against Middle Class, families and their interest. They know no shame and accept no blame for their mercenary posture. In fact they defend their actions as delivering the news in a fair and impartial manner.

Be that as it may the real culprits are the corporate giants that own the cable channels and the elected officials who rely on news coverage to hide their betrayal of the public good.

And as long as they can hide behind phoney news reporting and made for TV news events, they can continue to eat at he public troff and collect millions from corporate crooks who pay for their malfeasance.

The fight over Health Care Reform has been unfair since before the congressional recess began. Its time to even the playing field. Return to our roots so the speak. Its time for our real leaders to plan a date for us to all meet on the National Public Mall, and make a down payment on affordable health care, for every one.

Its not about being Republican Democrat, left, right or in the middle. Its not about being White Black, Hispanic, Asian or Native American. Its about honoring the Golden Rule, something every spiritually minded Christian, should understand.

It is estimated that the top 23 health care CEO’s raked in 14.9 Million in the past five years 10% of 14.9 billion is 1.4 billion. If basic insurance costs $8,000/year for a family then if you take 10% from just these 23 CEO salaries it would insure 35,000 Americans a year for five years.

That is a lot of people that can be helped just by 23 men. Looking at the companies as a whole that profit from health care, we can probably pay for every uninsured person in this country for decades to come.

Our fight is not with each other its with corporate greed, Capitalism run amuck. And for those people who believe in Capitalism over being a good neighbor; next time you need a cup of sugar try one of these 23 CEO’s and see if they will give you a drop of sweat.

The time for talk is over its time for congress to vote but before that happens its time for us to take away their cover. Its time for the Health Care Meeting On The Mall.

Government run healthcare is imploding around the world. I don't care whose side you're on, please just get off your ass and do some research. I can't handle stumbling onto these sob story blogs where nobody wants to invest in real solutions. This is the lazy, gimme gimme attitude that is swallowing America whole.

Jeromeo profile image

Jeromeo Hub Author 2 years ago

I believe in freedom of speech and feel I everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I really try to stay away form personal attacks.

But I have very little patience for people who don't think for themselves. You need to do your own research instead of following the party line.

First its the greed of CEO's that's the real problem not matter what present social dilemma you address.

But they've got you and others like you, so caught up in the propaganda you look right pass that.

When CEO's constantly raise health care costs and add the extra money to their own salaries, where's your outrage over that.

When they out-source job to overseas labor markets, and layoff thousands of American workers, who built this countries vanishing wealth, where's your voice of protest.

A lot of people would gladly get off their asses if they had a job to go to but the CEO's are shipping jobs out as fast as they can.

And while you're distracted with your on brand of selfish- ness, their laughing their collective asses off all the way to their off shore bank accounts.

So next time you decide to spout off about gimme gimme attitudes check the facts. It seems the real solution to the problem; is educating people like yourself, who feel its OK for others to die, as long as you can remain blissfully ignorant.

Wise Up or Shut UP.

People just don't realize the Democrats AND Republicans are writing legislation to benefit big Pharma and big Insurance. They are not writing legislation to help the poor and middle class. Baucus plan is wanting to fine and imprison anyone who does not purchase insurance whether public or private plan.

If we poor and middle class don't have the money for insurance now how the hell are we gonna purchase it under threat of fine and jail. If you don't have the money now you are not gonna have it later and tax credits are NOT gonna give me money to buy it. GEESHUS H. CRAP!!! What a bunch of D.A's in Washington. They are just protecting the big companies again...not looking out for us.

Great hub...It is a breach of their oath of office on either side of the aisle.

After reading all of your comments I must say that I just can't wait to start paying for everyone's health care. Being a small business owner where the pinch is going to be felt the most if universal health care does pass I just can't wait until I have to close my doors because I can't afford to pay the extra taxes and provide 100% health care for all of my employees. Some of you guys have made fun of Dave for his comments but when you have worked hard your whole life to build a business from nothing and slowly but surely all of your hard work is amounting to less and less each year it is very frustrating hearing others complain about what they feel is entitled to them because they just live in this country. The horror stories are out there no matter which side of universal health care you are on. But nobody is "entitled" to anything. Being an American give you the right to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness," but it isn't just handed to you on a silver platter. Through your own blood, sweat and tears is how you earn those rights. Do I agree that big business and insurance is solely at fault for all of the problems in this country with health care? No. Do I think they have contributed to it? Yes. To blame big business and insurances solely for the problems in health care today is ridiculous. To place all health care under government control and get rid of private insurance is ridiculous. The only way the government is going to pay for any health care plan is to tax everyone more. Actually to tax those who actually pay their taxes more and to go after businesses, especially small businesses. I honestly don't know what the best solution is but I do know that if the government's goal is to drive small businesses out of business and make everyone dependent on either big business or the government for their livelihood they are heading in the right direction. And eventually big business will be at the mercy of the government because if the government is making the rules and forcing their way then no business can compete long term. And at that point where is "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?" All of our lives will be in the hands of a few men and women telling us what we can and cant think, say or do.

I read your argument and was disappointed when it go to the point where you tried to defend big Business and the Health insurance companies.

When just one insurance CEO takes away $24,000, more money than he can spend in his life.

I fear you are just another selfish individual it may be good for the rest of us if your go out of business and someone a little more sympathetic in the competition loop takes your place.

I can't believe how selfish some of the people commenting on these articles are. I guess they think it can't happen to them. Well, it can and does.

I made good money as an RN, then got sick. I am too sick to work. I have lost my home, and if not for a friend, would now be homeless. I have been waiting over a year for a decision on Disability. In the meantime, I have no income whatsoever, and doing without medical care and also without all my medications.

These people act like it will take something out of their pockets if the less fortunate are allowed to have medical care. If you look at the bill, you will see that those who earn more than 500,000 a year will be paying more taxes. As they should. And only those businesses with 50 employees or more will have to provide health insurance.

You who are bitching need to actually read the bill. Yes, there are parts of it that are completely wrong. Like forcing people to buy health insurance and fining/jailing them if they don't.

But there are at least 47,000 people dying yearly because they are going without health care. It could be you.

Please see http://namesofthedead.com to see the names of those who have died because they could not get health care.

To see how the insurance companies are spending your hard-earned money that you are paying for their jacked-up premiums, please see: http://sickforprofit.com

Then get mad and do something. Something that will benefit all Americans. Our government has trillions to give to big banking and to kill millions of innocent civilians in the middle east and elsewhere. But no money for health care and education for AMERICANS????

Please!!!!! WAKE UP!!!!!!

Great hub! And maybe just maybe - folks will do a bit more research instead of believing the news media. It amazes me when an election comes around and people are 'undecided' - you mean, you have not taken the time to investigate these people who claim to want to represent you? With the internet there is no excuse not to have access to a variety of opinions and not just the usual political sound bites.

I'm already a follower by the way - and just checked your most recent hub. More great information! Thanks so much!
